Each year, we bring together leaders in the C-store industry to discuss trends and unlock insights that help drive innovation and growth. This forum’s theme was “Transforming C-Stores into Food & Beverage Powerhouses,” and it generated many compelling conversations about evolving consumer expectations, operational challenges, and emerging opportunities that are reshaping how convenience stores approach their food programs.
An Ideal Setting in the Desert
Phoenix’s growing reputation as a cultural and foodie hub made it a fitting location for conversations about the future of C-store foodservice. Attendees toured a Dutch Bros location as well as their headquarters and took part in a presentation on how this national chain is innovating and adapting to the changing marketplace.

Compelling Industry Presentation
Kelley Fechner from Datassential gave a presentation that provided attendees with data-driven insights and real-world operational strategies for navigating today’s competitive landscape.
Engaging LIVE Consumer Panel
Attendees gained valuable perspective through a candid discussion with young adult, loyal C-store consumers from the Phoenix area. The conversation uncovered authentic insights about purchasing decisions, brand perceptions, and the evolving role of C-stores in their daily routines —highlighting both opportunities and challenges for operators.

A Flavorful Journey

What Participants Are Saying
While we were thrilled to host such an engaged group, the ultimate test is whether attendees found their investment of time worthwhile. Here’s what some of this year’s participants shared about their experience.
“The team at Ruiz is exceptional. Each one brings a different perspective and experience to the table. We had large to small chains present, and we were all treated as equals. Everyone at Ruiz is truly passionate and knowledgeable about foodservice. I wouldn’t hesitate to go again if the opportunity presents itself. The entire event was well worth my time. Thank you to all who made it possible!”
“I appreciated the sharing of best practices and the ‘non-competitive’ attitude of my peers/competition in the industry.”
“The forum has been very educational over the years. Not only do we get some insights on what they are working on, but they work hard to provide us with informational data and ideas that we can take back and use in our respective jobs. They think out of the box to provide us with a great experience to enjoy and give us food for thought on what we could do or improve on.”
“This is my absolute favorite foodservice forum. I feel comfortable over sharing and trust these efforts will help the c-store segment continue to take market shares from QSRs.”
